Container Exchange welcomes interim CEO Trevor Evans

COEX interim CEO Trevor Evans

The Board of Container Exchange (COEX) has appointed Trevor Evans as interim Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Evans’ appointment follows Natalie Roach’s three-year term as CEO ending in January 2026. The Board thanks Natalie for her significant effort and contribution over the past three years and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.

Mr Evans brings significant leadership experience from roles in industry, government and recycling. Trevor was previously CEO of the National Retail Association and served as the Federal Member for Brisbane. During his time in government, Mr Evans became Australia’s first dedicated minister responsible for recycling, waste and sustainability.

Mr Evans will lead the organisation with support from the Board until a permanent appointment is made later this year.

“Sustainability has always been close to my heart, and I’m looking forward to continuing that focus here at COEX,” Mr Evans said.

Containers for Change is one of Australia’s most successful recycling systems. More than 11 billion containers have been returned to refund points since November 2018, putting $1.1 billion in 10-cent refunds back into pockets of Queenslanders.
