What is a Refund Point?
Refund Points are locations operated by businesses or organisations where consumers can return eligible empty beverage containers in exchange for the 10 cents Refund Amount.
Operators of Refund Points will be responsible for:
- Collecting, counting and sorting of collected containers
- Paying Refund Amounts to consumers
- Providing infrastructure for the storage of collected containers
- Sorting and preparing materials for collection by CoEx for further processing and recycling.
In addition, to the above day-to-day responsibilities, Refund Point operators will be the face of the QLD Container Refund Scheme and will be expected to provide high levels of customer service.
